The Production Artist (PA) at LKF Marketing works on light design/production-oriented projects and is the production manager and liaison between designers and vendors. The PA collaborates with the Art Director (AD) Graphic Designer (GD), and Digital Media Designer (DMD) to manage the pre-press, production, and quality control processes for all print and digital projects. You make us shine! This position interacts with all departments and reports to the Makers Director.


This position (20 hours/week) requires light design capabilities and pre-press experience. Clear communication skills, trouble shooting ability, acute attention to detail, and organizational skills are critical. Familiarity with Agile Methods and Design Thinking concepts are required. Candidates must be expert in Adobe CC applications (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience in web content management systems (WordPress, etc) is required, HTML and CSS are a plus.

Primary Responsibilities/Requirements

  • Execute production art and light design
  • Write project specifications and order quotes
  • Execute file preparation for vendors
  • Manage vendors and project delivery
  • Manage client assets
  • Web maintenance

Other Duties

  • Maintain vendor list with contact and capabilities
  • Manage the production process
  • Manage postal requirements
  • Meet project deadlines/work within time allowances
  • Review and approve vendor proofs/attend press checks
  • Manage file/photo organization process (DAM curator/librarian)
  • Website content formatting and graphics development
  • Update client morgue books
  • Participate in bi-monthly Makers department team meetings and
    contribute to projects/rocks


Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree with at least 5 years of experience in a professional environment, agency, or commercial printer (preferred).
