KALAMAZOO, Mich. - LKF Marketing was one of more than 60 regional organizations to participate in the second annual MiCareerQuest Southwest (MiCQSW) event Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 1-2, at the Kalamazoo County Expo Center. Upwards of 5,000 students attended the event to learn about a wide variety of career options directly from professionals.

Representatives from LKF Marketing engaged students in hands-on, real-world marketing activities during the event's two student-only, day sessions and a public, evening open house. Activities included "Design Your Own Brand" which invited students to design a logo for themselves based on their hobbies and interests, a "Who Tweeted It?" game in which students matched celebrity and company users with their tweets based on branding and public personas, and "Be a Marketer" in which students created a headline and two hashtags to complete a pre-designed billboard for a hypothetical hoverboard product based on provided background and demographic targets.

Heather Isch, LKF Marketing's CEO & President, said, "MiCareerQuest Southwest is a big undertaking with an even bigger impact. It was great to see so many community- and future-minded businesses come together to give students a glimpse into their everyday work lives and share potential career paths in the process.

"We loved the opportunity to share our time and talents with the students of Kalamazoo County," Isch said. "Whether they pursue marketing and communications as a career field or not, we are happy to help future workers find a career that inspires them."

The event was organized by Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency (Early Middle College, Education for the Arts, Education for Employment, and Youth Opportunities Unlimited programs), Michigan Works! Southwest, Southwest Michigan First, and United 4 Change. Platinum level sponsors included Kalamazoo RESA and Consort Display Group.

In addition to exhibiting at the MiCQSW event, LKF Marketing was also a sponsor.
