Driving Election Process & Security Awareness
Michigan’s Bureau of Elections (BOE) set out with a goal to provide educational and reference materials to election officials on standard processes and security best practices in Michigan. And thus, the Michigan Secure Election Experience was born to assist the various officials involved in explaining the state’s election process and their role in it to the public. The Michigan Secure Election Experience aims to inform Michigan residents about the people involved, technology and tools used, and the system of cross-checks in place to ensure a secure election process.
The BOE contacted LKF Marketing in 2022 seeking assistance in translating their extensive knowledge base into usable marketing and educational materials. The original deliverable was a series of posters that consolidated the vast election process into digestible content for anyone to understand.
Together, we produced a comprehensive toolkit including animated videos, an instructional guide, invitation templates, Journey of a Vote poster, pocket guides, PowerPoint presentations, press release templates, social media assets, and step and photo posters. We also ensured the materials produced adhere to ADA compliance standards to connect with diverse audiences.
We are proud to help promote the multi-layered security of Michigan elections and aid the BOE in its mission to keep residents informed, support new and existing clerks, and preserve the integrity of election processes from start to finish.
